Dow’s 2007 Colheita Tawny
2007
2002

Colheita Ports are Tawny Ports made from the very best wines of a single harvest (Colheita means harvest in Portuguese). Although they are aged in the same way as blended tawny Ports (10, 20, 30 and over 40 years) in seasoned oak casks, they differ in that they are representative of one single year and not blended to express a consistent style with little or no variation.

The mild winter and warm Spring of 2007 gave rise to one of the most celebrated vintages ever. Produced from excellent wines from the same year, Dow’s 2007 colheita was specially selected for ageing by Charles Symington, Dow’s Master Blender.

Notes of chocolate hazelnut, dried figs and dark Asian spices. Aged tangerine peel, too. It’s polished and sleek with moderate sweetness and seamless texture. Attractive and easy to drink. Dried fruit and chocolate at the end. Drink or hold.

Cherry candy, mulled plum and steeped red currant notes give this a caressing and flattering feel while black tea and cinnamon underscore the finish. A big gush of tasty tawny.

Sweet and luscious, this is a Colheita that goes for the hedonism. It doesn't impress all that much with its power, but in flavor, elegance and youthful exuberance, it is irresistible. It adds a fresh feel and good depth, plus those classic Tawny flavors that linger nicely on the finish.

This wood-aged Port from a single year is still on the fruity side of Colheita tawnies. With its berry flavors mingling with raisins and a structure from the spirit blended into the wine, this is finely textured, a drier Port in the Dow's style and ready to drink.
