BLANDY’S, established in 1811, is the leading producer of premium quality Madeira and is still owned and managed by direct descendants of the founder, John Blandy, in partnership with the Symington family of Oporto.
BLANDY’S uses the most modern wine making technology whilst at the same time respecting the age-old traditions of Madeira wine.
ALL THE BLANDY’S premium wines continue to be aged using the traditional ‘canteiro’ system, whereby the oak casks are placed high up in the hot, dry lofts of the lodge and left for years to develop their characteristic flavour and complexity.
BLANDY’S enjoys growing prestige from consistently outstanding competition results and tasting reviews. Year after year Blandy’s wins the majority of medals and trophies awarded in the world’s most prestigious tasting events.
Michael and Chris Blandy are the 6th and 7th generations to work in the business.
