The Symington family decided in 1989, when they bought Quinta do Vesúvio, that the sole objective would be to create outstanding vintage wines, initially focusing exclusively on Vintage Port. Vesuvio’s old vineyards produce a very small number of bunches per plant. These tiny quantities are harvested from small, compact bunches which produce tremendously concentrated and well-structured wines.
