Contacto Loureiro 2024

2024

The grapes are handpicked into small boxes and transported to the winery in a short period of time. At the winery, the grapes are fully destemmed with a slight skin maceration, followed by clarification at 54ºF and fermentation at controlled speed and temperature. The wine then ages for a minimum of 3 months in contact with the lees and with frequent bâtonnage.

Exuberant nose with floral and citrus aromas. Light scent of jasmine. Elegant and light on the palate with a  crisp round acidity. Long and vibrant finish. Best served between 50-54°F.

Excellent as an appetizer and ideal with seafood, grilled fish, lighter meals, soft cheese, risotto and tapas.

They made a "skin contact" Loureiro for the first time in 2024. It comes from a single estate, Quinta da Ferreira in Ponte de Lima, at 200 meters above sea level, with a slope and more inland, in the valley, some 25 kilometers from the sea, with good drainage, where they make their best Loureiro wines. Here, we're also talking about very brief skin contact, short and cool (12 hours at 12 degrees Celsius), which has a subtle effect on the wine, but there's more intensity and complexity here. - LG
