Cockburn’s

Cockburn’s is one of the classic Port Houses, established in 1815 by Robert Cockburn who first came to Portugal to fight in the Peninsular campaigns under Wellington. When he returned to Oporto after the campaigns, he was inspired to create his own Port firm.

Today Cockburn’s is 100% owned and managed by the fourth generation of the Symington family, who are today the largest landowners in Portugal’s Douro Valley with over 4,000 acres.
