Blandy's Rainwater was transferred to 'estufa' tanks where the wine underwent a cyclic heating and cooling process between 45°C and 50°C over a period of 3 months. After 'estufagem' the wine was aged for three years in American oak casks and then underwent racking and fining before the blend was assembled and bottled.
It is a medium dry pale Madeira that should be served chilled before meals but also goes well with dessert. It’s elegant and refined bouquet has makes it a universal favorite.
Supple and lush, with pear, apricot and baked apple flavors. Rich, buttery finish.
The non-vintage Rainwater Medium Dry has an uncomplicated marmalade and wax resin nose. The palate is light and smooth, with the toffee component rounding out the finish. It is not as complex as Barbeito’s Rainwater, but should offer pleasure if slightly chilled and served as an aperitif.
